KARACHI: Farooq Ahmed, the father of slain former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq, passed away at a local hospital on Friday.
Ahmed, who was also a former MNA, was getting treatment of heart and kidney ailments since long time. Today, his health further deteriorated as a result, he expired.
His funeral prayer was attended by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, PTI MNA Aslam Khan, members of the MQM coordination committee, Karachi Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the city and a large number of people in Al-Sufa mosque in Karimabad.
He was laid to rest at Shuhda Qabristan in Yaseenabad in Karachi amid sorrowful atmosphere.
