Govt approves 10-day paternity leave

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has approved a 10-day paternity leave for male employees.

Rabiya Javeri Agha, secretary of the Ministry of Human Rights, said that a clause has been added to National Commission on the Status of Women which states that “a male employee in regular service shall be allowed paternity leave for a period of 10 days with full pay and allowances outside his leave account from the date of his wife’s confinement.”

However, no changes have been made to the 90-day paid leave for expecting female employees.
