KARACHI: The Sindh Chief Minister’s (CM) Secretariat on Tuesday issued a notification regarding the non-availability of secretaries at the provincial secretariat, ordering that office discipline must be ensured.
According to the notification issued and signed by Principal Secretary to the CM Sajid Jamal Abro, a large number of secretaries have not been attending their duties and remain absent from their offices.
“Honourable Sindh chief minister visited his office in the Sindh Secretariat at 9.30 am. He also visited the Finance Department and the Planning and Development (P&D) Board and held meetings there. However, it was observed that barring those secretaries who were out of station for meetings and court hearings, very few were present in the office,” read the notification.
“The Competent Authority has observed that this lack of discipline is not acceptable, and has directed to take necessary measures to ensure that all officers reach office on time and that office discipline is maintained in the future,” the notification added.
Sindh P&D Board chairman, Sindh CM’s Inspection, Enquiries and Implementation Team, and all provincial administrative secretaries have been made respondents in the notice.
