LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar to extend full support to Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. An important meeting of government’s allied parties has also been summoned on November 14 to allay any fears of discord between the government and its allied parties.
PM Imran Khan took immediate notice of the matter of video related to a meeting between Jahangir Tareen and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. Imran Khan along with Jahangir Tareen met Ghulam Sarwar on the night between Friday and Saturday.
The PM asked the governor in unequivocal terms that provincial matters be resolved through reconciliation and mutual understanding. Usman Buzdar is an empowered chief minister and he should be fully supported. The internal differences can cause harm to both federal and provincial governments. Therefore, sagacity should be paraded rather than taking any sentimental decisions.
Imran also directed Sarwar to accelerate the pace of contacts in connection with Senate polls. He also asked the governor to talk to members of the assembly, including allied parties.
Supporting PM’s statement after the meeting, Chaudhry Sarwar said that Usman Buzdar as chief minister wields full powers. He said that full cooperation with Usman Buzdar will continue.
