The Joint Action Committee of journalists held another protest against salary cuts and layoffs at media houses outside the press club in Lahore.
Newsmen, cameramen, support staff also joined in and chanted slogans against the owners of major media houses in light of the recent retrenchments.
The protestors threatened that they would continue to protest every day until the authorities take coercive action to make media houses accountable.
They also demanded that the government should audit media houses’ financial matters, including the advertisements payments as well as taxes paid.
