ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday Issued notices to parties concerned on the request of former ISI director general Asad Durrani.
A single-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard a petition seeking nullification of the government’s decision to put Asad Durrani’s name on Exit Control List (ECL).
Advocate Umer Farogh Adam appeared before the court on behalf of former spy chief.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kyani inquired if any inquiry has been conducted. Upon which counsel for the petitioner argued that no inquiry was conducted. Counsel for the petitioner argued before the court that his client was retired from army 25 years back and has nothing to do with army. His name has illegally been put on ECL.
He requested the court to remove his name from ECL so that he could fly abroad to meet his family. Advocate Farogh went on to say that such action against his client, who has rendered his services as diplomat in two countries be declared “illegal”.
The court after hearing the arguments issued notices to parties concerned and adjourned the case till October 18.
