PESHAWAR: The government has planned to establish burns units in all divisional hospitals to ensure patients are treated locally while those suffering from severe burns would be transferred to the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), a local media outlet reported on Saturday.
Operations are expected to start within a month.
A medical professional explained that 80 per cent of patients can be treated if they are brought to the hospital on time and this was the reasoning behind the establishment of burns units.
Each burn unit is expected to cost between Rs200-300 million.
Those suffering from major burns or complications would be shifted to the HMC.
