KARACHI: The process of demolishing walls with advertisements was initiated on Wednesday by the Karachi Cantonment Board (KCB) within its jurisdiction.
Four such walls were demolished at Shahrah-e-Faisal.
The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) was unable to initiate such a process in its jurisdiction so far.
Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) had earlier ordered that walls plastered with advertisements must be demolished and no walls for this purpose should be erected again.
Chief Justice (CJ) Mian Saqib Nisar headed the SC bench that heard the case.
The bench had also summoned KCB chief executive officer (CEO) to inquire about the walls.
The court ruled that a follow-up report in this regard should be submitted within 10 days.
