So it’s true! After months of speculations, it has finally been confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are a couple. However, “it’s all very new.”
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine India, Ranbir opened up on his relationship status when asked if he was dating Alia.
“It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is – what’s the right word? – flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to for myself. It’s new for us, so let it cook a bit,” he remarked.
On being newly in love, Ranbir said, “It always comes with a lot of excitement. It’s a new person, it comes with new beats. Old tricks become new tricks again – you know, being charming and romantic, all of that. I think I’m more balanced today.”
“I value relationships more. I can appreciate hurt and what it does to a person much more than I could a couple years back,” he added.
This is the first time Alia and Ranbir have publicly accepted their relationship. Earlier, they had said they have a crush on each other but stopped short of confirming anything.
In another interview, Ranbir said that he has a ‘boy crush on her,’ and complimented Alia on her latest film, Raazi. A few weeks ago, when Alia was asked who biggest crush is, she promptly replied, “Ranbir Kapoor.”
Both Alia and Ranbir are currently working on director Ayan Mukherji’s upcoming film Brahmastra.
The two also made an appearance together at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception sending fans into a frenzy and adding fire to the already existing speculations of their relationship.
Ranbir was previously in relationships with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, who is also interestingly a close friend of Alia. Meanwhile, Alia was seeing Siddharth Malhotra.
This union isn’t all too surprising also considering both Ranbir and Alia come from Bollywood royalty.
