KARACHI: Two men were sentenced to a seven-year prison term by an accountability court in a case pertaining to fraudulently selling government land in Karachi.

Aleemuddin and Haroon Panjwani, the convicts, were asked to pay a fine of Rs20 million each after the case was proved against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the accountability court.

The convicts had been arrested by NAB in June 2017.

The anti-corruption watchdog had accused both men of cheating at least 500 persons of RS187 million by illegally selling plots and houses.
