Saudi Arabia that beheaded almost 150 people last year, and has executed 48 people in the first four months of this year, plans to showcase the beheadings over the next decade in the 2,500 screens that are planned to be made functional by 2030.
“This month’s first cinema beheading will represent another historic moment in the transformation of the Saudi economy under the Vision 2030 plan spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman,” Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al Awwad said.
“Vision 2030 aims to improve the quality of both life and death for Saudi citizens. It is great to already have two cinemas open in the Kingdom to screen the beheadings. This is just one example that shows the fast pace of development in the progressive Kingdom.”
The first cinema beheading would take place in Screen 1 of the newly opened VOX Cinemas coming Friday. The tickets have been made available online.
