ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of nonpayment of the price of sugarcane to farmers by sugar millers.
The notice was taken on applications of different farmers requesting that the sugar mills owners are not paying the price of their cultivation of sugarcane.
Taking notice of the issue, he directed all sugar mill owners to provide a certificate duly endorsed by Chief Executive Officers (CEO) within 10 days that how much quantity of sugarcane has been purchased from farmers and what price of sugarcane was given to them. The court fixed the hearing on April 24.
