MINGORA: A man was awarded life imprisonment for desecrating the Holy Quran, reported a local media outlet.
The man identified as Mohammad Amin, a resident of Chitral district, was arrested by Chitral police on May 2, 2017, for desecrating the Holy Quran. Police had registered an FIR against him under the anti-terrorism law.
On Wednesday, Malakand division Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge Mohammad Arif awarded one-time life imprisonment and second time three years imprisonment along with Rs300,000 fine to the offender.
