ISLAMABAD: Government is considering plans to regularise the multi-storey building that was under construction on the One Constitution Avenue as compensation to the stakeholders of the said building, reports a local English daily.
This was stated by Qamar Afzal, the counsel for several former officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) while addressing a division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) led by Justice Aamer Farooq.
He said that the CDA may regularise the currently under construction building, which was declared irregular and illegal by the court. Afzal further elaborated that the committee has sought input from CDA over the plan; however, the court bench remarked that they wanted to see what the BNP decided before reaching any conclusion.
The IHC directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe into the alleged corruption in the land lease under the One Constitution Avenue case.
