LAHORE: 300 recovery teams of Excise and Taxation (E&T) department have sealed 370 properties including 60 showrooms of tax defaulters and impounded 247 vehicles over non-payment of taxes during the ongoing crackdown.
The crackdown was carried out in Gujranwala division’s all six districts which included Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala.
According to senior E&T officials, the teams seized hundreds of unauthorised number-plates of vehicles during special checking. The officials said owners of the sealed properties and impounded vehicles owe millions of rupees to the national exchequer in the form of property, luxury, professional and token taxes.
