RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistani employees of Turkish waste management company, Albayrak, were shot dead while one was injured in Rawalpindi in an alleged incident of targeted killing early on Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on the Albayrak employees while they were cleaning the streets near Nishtar Market.
The deceased were identified as Asif and Saqib, while the injured man was identified as driver Shakeel Irshad.
The Station House Officer (SHO) Sadiqabad said that the deceased had received multiple bullet wounds and had been shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem.
Employees of Albayrak claimed that the company officials paid no visit to the injured worker or the deceased after the incident.
Similar incidents occurred previously in August and June when three employees of the company were killed around the same time of the day.
Sadiqabad police believe the incident to be a pre-planned targeted attack resulting from a personal enmity.
