LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that legal verdicts cannot be changed by running anti-judiciary campaigns and road shows.
He expressed these view while answering questions by the media, after the Supreme Court rejected review petitions against the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif on Friday.
Parvez Elahi termed the verdict of the five-member bench of the Supreme Court as being in accordance with the merit and legal requirements.
He said that the learned judges during hearing of the Panama case had given sufficient time to Nawaz Sharif’s family to defend themselves and provide sufficient proof but they failed to do so.
He also said that the review petitions also failed to make any new legal argument.
