LAHORE: Punjab Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Jahangir Khanzada said that arrival of World XI players in Lahore is a good omen for sports’ boost in Punjab. He was inspecting the site for temporary hospital at the Punjab Sports Board during the stay of the World XI team, on Saturday.
He said that a warm welcome will be accorded to the guests in Lahore and foolproof security will be provided to them. An emergency response cell and a temporary hospital will be set up at the Sports Board Punjab in order to cope with any unpleasant incident, he added.
Sports Director General Zulfiqar Ghuman, representatives of the health department and concerned officers of sports board were present on the occasion.
The minister informed representatives of the department that temporary hospital will consist of 20-beds besides medical aid and facilities of operation. He said that besides health, officers of all other departments will be present at emergency response cell who will take immediate action in any emergent situation during the six days tour of World XI.
He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the sports board and said that successful holding of such events in Punjab will result in providing opportunities for cricket lovers.
