Two newly installed power plants on by the Federal Government and the other by Punjab Government, Haveli Bahadur Shah power plant and Bhikhi Power Plant have seized working. These power plants were supposed to be run on LNG but the effectiveness of both these plants are an open secret already as not even a single watt of electricity is being added to the national grid by these power houses.
It is also important to mention that just a few kilometres away from the Bhikhi power plant , a hydro electric plant was installed two months back which completely collapsed into the Khanpur River near Sheikhupura.
The Government is giving high hopes to the nation that there will be zero load shedding in the country by the elections 2013 but how they are going to get to their aim is still a mystery as all new power projects seem to be crumbling one after the other.
