MARDAN: Mardan Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Alam Shinwari inaugurated Police Access Service (PAS) in District Mardan on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sharif, local elders, traders and media persons also attended the inauguration ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the RPO highlighted the salient features of PAS. He told the gathering that citizens can contact RPO, DPO and other police officers directly on their cell phones to lodge any complaint against police or to address other issues. The complaints lodged through a call, SMS, fax or email will be directly registered in the computerised system of the police department and action will be taken without delay.
The DPO further informed that the newly established PAS system was equipped with a computer-based timeline monitoring system that will ensure that the complaints are redressed within the given timelines. He informed that the whole system would remain under the direct supervision of IGP.
PAS was aimed at winning over public trust and satisfaction through a prompt and timely resolution of public complaints, he added. He appealed to the public to avail this service and gain maximum benefit from this modern system.
He further informed that citizens can now send their complaints to PAS Mardan through an SMS on the DIG’s phone number 0346-1117677 or the DPO’s number which is 0346-1117678. The public can also send their complaints at [email protected] and register them through telephone number 0937-9230576.
Under the new system, every complaint will be registered in the automated database of PAS and the complainant will be intimated about the complaint code assigned to their complaint through a system generated SMS.
