Police’s failure to curb organ trafficking raises questions

The recent upsurge in organ trafficking in the province has raised serious questions on the performance of the police and FIA. Although, recently, the police have been active in arresting the traffickers and foreigners who were involved in the heinous activity; the fact that the FIA has failed to demand the criminal record of the doctors, involved in organ trafficking, from the police raises serious doubts over the intentions of the FIA. Furthermore, the police’s inability to arrest doctors who had been carrying out organ transplants in the EME society for a long time under its nose adds to the criticism that the police already bears for sluggish performance.

To add insult to injury, the police, in order to hide its failure, is arresting foreigners without suspicion. The FIA has called on the police to assist it in its recent operation.

The intelligence agencies have carried out an investigation on the police’s failure to curb illegal organ transplant in the city and have submitted the report to the higher authorities. The chief minister lauded the FIA after reading the report.

The FIA has also included two senior nurses of Mayo hospital in the investigation team. FIA will also interrogate the – doctor – spouse of Dr Fawad Chidherh.

FIA has arrested Abdul Majeed, who was involved in assisting doctors who were carrying out organ trafficking.
