Seven KP districts to be declared sensitive for Chikungunya disease

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has decided to declare seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sensitive for Chikungunya disease.

The Health Department said two teams have been sent to hospitals in Swabi’s Chota Lahor and informed the health officials about the threat of the disease outspread, reported a private news channel.

Chikungunya disease is caused by the bite of a specific mosquito which causes fever and muscles pain. The affected person also feels severe headache and allergy.

The blood samples of four suspected Chikungunya cases from Mardan and Swabi have been sent for laboratory tests and their results are awaited. The Health Department has also decided to carry out fumigation at all the bus stands of the province.
