Underlying disputes should be addressed to control human trafficking, says Maleeha Lodhi

Pakistan’s Representative at the United Nations Dr. Maleeha Lodhi has said that human smuggling can’t be fully controlled until all underlying disputes were not addressed.

She said Pakistan has taken several steps to control human smuggling.

She also said that crimes against women and children is on rise in the disputed areas.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said that Member States must strengthen cooperation on law enforcement and intelligence-sharing to control human trafficking.
