An explosion occurred at the Flamanville Nucear Power Plant in north-western France, possibly injuring several people in the blast.
The facility has two pressurised water reactors which could have resulted in catastrophe, but no possible nuclear risk to area locals is being reported. The incident happened 10:00 am local time in the engine room and medical teams immediately reached the spot.
