Activist asks for early completion of Lyari Expressway

KARACHI: Senior social worker and activist Saghir Ali Siddiqui has urged the authorities to ensure early opening of Lyari Expressway second lane so as to reduce the immense traffic pressure on roads linking downtown to other parts of the metropolis

In a statement released, on Thursday, he also appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to take into consideration the plight of the commuters as well as plausible solution to the same.

The activist said that sincere intentions were needed to help address the problems faced by common people of the metropolis.

Siddiqui said work on planned flyover at Shaheen Complex and II Chundrigar Road intersection must also begin without any delay.

Siddique concluded, “Major infrastructure development programmes must be complemented with the provision of pedestrian bridges, and most of those already in place are in dire need of repair”.
