Punjab govt goes after unauthorised number plates

Punjab Traffic Police has started taking actions against the motorists using privately prepared vehicle number plates.

According to reports, more than 26,000 number plates have been removed from vehicles by traffic wardens.  The Punjab traffic police has been checking vehicles and those seen with the unauthorised number plates are stopped and challaned. The illegal number plates are also removed and a strict warning is given to obtain the officially prepared number plates within a specific time.

An unfortunate incident took place in Lahore, where a traffic warden was beaten up for stopping a vehicle with privately prepared number place. However, the police managed to arrest the two accused.
