Mohammad Amir injured in first test against Australia

Pakistan pace sensation Mohammad Amir was helped from the field after digging his right knee into the Gabba turf midway through the final session of the first Test against Australia.

With Australia at 220 for the loss of three wickets, batsman Peter Handscomb pulled a ball from pacer Wahab Riaz down towards fine-leg where Amir was fielding, with the fast-bowler appearing to twist his leg in an awkward manner after misfielding.

Team members and the physio went to the 24-year-old’s aid before he was helped from the field by the medical staff.
