The officials of an anti-encroachment team of Orangi Town escaped unhurt in a reported attack by the members of an alleged land grabbers’ group during an anti-encroachment operation in Orangi Town here on Tuesday.
According to a statement, the incident occurred when an anti-encroachment team, led by Project Director Muhammad Rizwan Khan was removing encroachments from land of a trust and a hospital, when they were reportedly attacked by land grabbers.
The alleged attackers opened fire on the officials but all of them escaped unhurt.
A case of the incident has been registered with the Orangi Town police station. The local administration has expressed his resolve to continue its operation against the encroachments.
