The National Business Advisory Committee chaired by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Friday approved an agenda for the National Assembly’s Budget Session.
After discussing and taking into account suggestions by representatives of the political parties in the NA, it was decided that general discussion on the budget will continue till June 17 after which the process of passage of the budget would be initiated. It was decided that the budget session will continue till June 21.
The committee decided that the sittings of the NA will be held from 4 pm to 9 pm on Mondays and from 10 am to 4 pm with a break of half an hour for Zuhr prayers, on other days of the week.
It was also decided that the question hour and other non-legislative business will remain suspended during the session.
The committee also approved the tentative schedule of sessions of the NA during its second parliamentary year.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal Khan, and MNAs Shaista Pervez, Shahabud Din Khan, Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Dr Arif Alvi, Sahibzada Tariqullah and Syed Ghazi Gulab Jamal.
