The Executive Board Meeting of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday approved three references in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) case and one in Pakistan Railways case.
The meeting was held at the NAB Headquarters with NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry in the chair.
Two reference regarding sale of PSM products at cheaper prices will be filed against accused former PSM chairman, Moin Aftab Sheikh, Sameen Asghar, ex-director commercial and others. The accused are alleged to have given illegal benefits to private firms to the tune of Rs 506.67 million and Rs 311.378 million respectively causing loss to the PSM/national exchequer.
In the second reference, accused Sameen Asghar and others are alleged to have extended free credit scheme to private firms and causing loss of Rs 13.66 million to the PSM and national exchequer.
In another reference in the Pakistan Railways case against accused Saeed Akhtar, former GM operations, and Ahsan Mahmood, former director planning were accused of causing loss of $3.78 million to the PR/state treasury through acts of corruption and corrupt practices and misuse of authority.
The board also authorised investigation into KP police weapon purchase case. The accused include former IG, members of the purchase committee and officials of the Police Department.
