Two persons, including a Rescue 1122 official and 16-year-old girl, committed suicide after swallowing poisonous pills in separate incidents. 24-year-old Nabeel Jawwad Ahmed of Rescue took his own life in the Nawab Town Police Station’s precincts. He was a resident of Multan and posted at the Thokar Niaz Baig Centre. Nabeel, who lived in a private hostel located at Thokar Niaz Baig, was found unconsciousness on Saturday. He was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on Sunday. Kareem Ahmed, the elder brother of the deceased, told police that Nabeel was mentally disturbed for the last some weeks over unknown reasons. On the other hand, Ambar Hashmat, a student of 10th class and resident of Nazimabad area falling in the precincts of Gujjarpura Police Station, swallowed poisonous pills after clash with her father over a domestic issue. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died after some time.
Body found: The body of a 28-year-old unidentified man was found dead near Garhi Shahu Chowk. The hospital sources claimed that the deceased had died due to intoxicating eatables. Police removed the body to the city morgue for autopsy and started searching for the heirs of deceased. Youth dies in mysterious circumstances: A 19-year-old youth, hailing from Narowal, died under mysterious circumstances at Gulab Devi Hospital in the wee hours on Sunday. The deceased, Faiz-ul-Rasool alias Faiji, a resident of Shahpur Bhangu in Shakar Garh, was attending classes of veterinary diploma at Garhi Dopatta College in Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the last several months. Muhammad Abdullah, a cousin of the deceased, said Faiz had been suffering from infection and he was taking proper medicines prescribed by the local doctors. However, after the family noticed the deteriorating condition of Faiz, he was shifted to the Gulab Devi Hospital from Narowal his hometown on Thursday. The patient was operated as the doctors diagnosed swelling in his kidneys but he died on Saturday night.
Thieves arrested: Two thieves were held red handed minutes after they stole the nameplate of graves in the Raiwind City Police Station’s precincts. The accused, Malik Imran (30) and Waqas Dogar (15), are the residents of Okara. They were overpowered by the locals, who spotted them while fleeing the scene. Later, police took them into their custody. The robbers used to steal nameplates and sold them to a workshop owner Suleman Niazi. 60 KG HEROINE RECOVERED: Civil Lines Police on Sunday recovered 60 kg charas and arrested two drug peddlers. Per details, officials of CIA Civil Lines were informed by their sources that drug peddlers Muhammad Shafiq and Abdul Razaq had smuggled good quantity of heroine from tribal areas for the New Year parties, who then raided the Ghaziabad area and confiscated the heroine.
