Kohistan floods: 63 people missing, 33 dead bodies recovered

Thirty three dead bodies have been recovered while sixty three people are still missing after they were swept away in a flood flash due to heavy rains in Kohistan district.

According to the DCO Kohistan Imtiaz Shah flood conditions were developed in Kundiyal tehsil due to heavy rains. 63 people from the villages Rasahao and Sambolobari of union Council Gabriyal went missing after they were swept away in flood flash; these people include 18 men, 17 women, and 28 children. Locals and police have recovered 33 dead bodies during the initial rescue measures, 20 of these dead bodies have been identified.

He further told that in the first phase of rescue operations Pak-army has provided food items via helicopter to the people present in the effected areas. A medical team has also been sent for providing initial medical treatment to the people of these areas.
