Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Mark Grossman will represent the United States at the third meeting of the US-Afghanistan-Pakistan Core Group in Kabul to “support a process of Afghan-led reconciliation,” the State Department said Saturday.

Ambassador Grossman has left for Afghanistan, for regional consultations to echo President Obama’s June 22 speech on a troop drawdown and emphasise the US commitment to a long-term partnership with Afghanistan, the office of State Department Spokesperson said.
