Digital library for preserving city’s history inaugurated

KARACHI – A digital library was inaugurated at the Municipal Archives and Research Department located at the KMC Building. Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Karachi Dr Christian Brecht performed the inauguration.
The library has been set up to preserve the historical documents and ancient maps pertaining to Karachi. The consul-general also opened an exhibition of photographs of places declared as world heritage.
The exhibits included 20 photos about Germany and seven about Pakistan.
Dr Christian Brecht said that the history of Karachi as well as the heritage is being preserved in an impressive manner.
Heritage Foundation Chief Executive Officer Yasmin Lari was of the view that for a better future, it is necessary to be aware of one’s history.
