 LAHORE: Punjab has launched its first-ever province-wide daily deep-cleaning campaign in public hospitals under the "Punjab New Health Culture" initiative, with comprehensive sanitation measures being carried out to improve hygiene standards and safeguard patients' health.

Launched on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the extensive daily deep-cleaning drive is continuing across government hospitals throughout the province. The chief minister is receiving daily reports on the campaign, while its implementation is also being monitored digitally.

Comprehensive cleaning is being carried out at hospital entrances, corridors and all wards of tehsil, district and other major public hospitals. Special emphasis is being placed on maintaining cleanliness in waiting areas and public washrooms.

Operation theatres are undergoing professional daily deep cleaning to ensure they remain infection-free, while doors and windows of government hospitals are also being cleaned regularly.

Hospital floors are being washed using specialised cleaning chemicals, with additional sanitation measures introduced in paediatric and gynaecology wards to better protect the health of children and women.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government was committed to safeguarding the health of every citizen, particularly children and women.

She said the adoption of European-standard deep-cleaning practices in public hospitals was helping curb the spread of infectious diseases and improve healthcare standards across the province.

CM expresses solidarity with Musakhel earthquake victims

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Musakhel district of Balochistan.

She prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the Kangri earthquake and for the early rehabilitation of the affected communities.

 

CM praises Rangers for foiling Karachi terror attack

Separately, the Punjab chief minister commended the successful foiling of a terrorist attack on a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi.

She paid tribute to the security forces for their swift and professional response, saluted the martyrs who laid down their lives during the operation, and expressed heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families.

Maryam Nawaz also prayed for the early recovery of those injured in the operation and reaffirmed that the entire nation stands united in its resolve to completely eradicate terrorism.
