Tourist shot dead after dispute at Fort Munro

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A tourist from Sakhi Sarwar was shot dead after a minor dispute at Fort Munro, police and rescue officials said, sparking panic among visitors at the hill station in southern Punjab.

According to police and rescue sources, Muhammad Imran Hajbani had travelled to Fort Munro with friends for sightseeing. The incident took place at Anari Hill, where he reportedly became involved in a minor altercation with some local individuals.

Police said the argument turned violent and shots were allegedly fired, leaving Imran critically wounded. After receiving information about the incident, personnel of the Border Military Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted him to the Trauma Centre of Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Officials said he later died during treatment. After legal formalities and a post-mortem examination were completed, the body was handed over to his family.
