Rana Sanaullah, WAPDA chairman review water and energy projects

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah and Wapda Chairman retired Lieutenant General (R) Muhammad Saeed on Tuesday agreed to intensify efforts for the timely completion of water and energy projects.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, where the two sides discussed water resource management, Wapda’s ongoing development schemes, and the need to promote harmony among the provinces for national progress.

According to the details shared from the meeting, participants carried out a detailed review of measures aimed at increasing the country’s water storage capacity as well as the pace of work on projects currently under development.

Rana Sanaullah said that building consensus and maintaining coordination among all provinces on projects of national significance had become an urgent requirement. He also directed the relevant authorities to speed up work on ongoing schemes so that their benefits could reach the public as early as possible.

The discussion also underlined the importance of stronger coordination between the federal and provincial governments to help meet national development objectives in a timely and effective manner.

Focus on water storage and project progress

A key part of the meeting was devoted to reviewing efforts related to enhancing Pakistan’s water storage capacity. The participants also examined the progress of ongoing Wapda development projects linked to the water and energy sectors.

The minister and the Wapda chairman agreed that improved cooperation between the centre and the provinces would be necessary to move these projects forward and ensure they are completed on schedule.

Emphasis on inter-provincial harmony

The meeting also focused on inter-provincial harmony, which both sides agreed was essential for the country’s development. In this context, the discussion linked national development goals with cooperation across provinces, particularly on major infrastructure and resource-related projects.

It was agreed during the meeting that coordination and cooperation at the federal and provincial levels would be further strengthened to support the timely and effective achievement of national development goals.
