ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday congratulated Nizar Amidi on his election as president of Iraq, extending best wishes for his success in office.
According to a report by Radio Pakistan, the president expressed confidence that Iraq would continue progressing towards stability and national cohesion under Amidi’s leadership.
In his message, President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening fraternal ties with Iraq and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He also conveyed his good wishes for the prosperity and well-being of the Iraqi people, underscoring Islamabad’s intent to maintain close bilateral relations.
