Railways Police training centre found lacking basic facilities, standards

LAHORE: Shortcomings in infrastructure and training arrangements have surfaced at the Railways Police training centre, prompting concern over the facilities available to trainees and the institution’s overall training system.

Inspector General Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan expressed strong dissatisfaction during a visit to the centre. He observed that trainees were not being provided adequate facilities and took particular notice of the absence of a proper mess hall.

The IG also noted that food was being served to trainees in buckets, describing the practice as unacceptable. During the visit, he directed the authorities concerned to immediately set up a standard dining facility at the training centre.

The reported deficiencies have raised questions about both the physical condition of the centre and the standard of training being provided there. The concerns highlighted during the inspection relate not only to infrastructure but also to the broader effectiveness of the training system in place at the institution.

The visit brought multiple gaps to light, particularly in relation to basic amenities for trainees. The lack of a proper mess facility was among the issues specifically identified by IG Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan.

His remarks underscored concern over the conditions in which trainees were being accommodated and fed. The IG’s response indicated that the existing arrangements fell short of acceptable standards. He observed that food was being distributed in buckets, calling the practice unacceptable, and ordered the immediate establishment of a standard dining facility.

The inspection, as reported, drew attention to the need for improvements in both infrastructure and training standards at the centre. The issues identified during the visit have added to concerns about the quality of facilities being extended to trainees.

The development centres on the Railways Police training centre, where the deficiencies identified during the inspection have put focus on the adequacy of existing arrangements for trainees and the functioning of the training setup.
