SHO booked for corruption

KHANEWAL: District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid Waraich has registered a case against the SHO of Saddar Police Station and two constables on charges of corruption and abuse of authority, and has also placed the SHO in lock-up.

According to the DPO, SHO Muhammad Waqar was taken into custody in connection with a battery theft case.

The FIR was lodged on the complaint of DSP Mirza Sadiq, citing alleged misuse of powers and embezzlement.

The DSP claimed that the SHO had accepted bribes worth millions of rupees from multiple scrap dealers implicated in the case and subsequently let them go.
