Gas loadshedding hits Lahore during Sehri, residents struggle to prepare meals

LAHORE: Residents across several neighborhoods of Lahore faced severe gas loadshedding during Sehri, causing difficulties for families trying to prepare meals during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to local residents, gas pressure dropped significantly or completely disappeared in multiple areas shortly before and during Sehri time. The issue was particularly noticeable in parts of Gulberg and several blocks of the LDA (Lahore Development Authority) residential areas, where households reported being unable to cook food in time for the fast.

Many residents said the disruption began late at night and continued until after Sehri, leaving families with limited options to prepare meals. Some households resorted to using electric appliances or ordering food from nearby restaurants that remained open.

Citizens expressed frustration, saying the situation becomes especially challenging during Ramadan when timely meal preparation is essential. Several residents urged authorities to ensure uninterrupted gas supply at least during Sehri and Iftar hours.

The situation has sparked concerns that similar outages could continue in the coming days if immediate measures are not taken.
