Government imposes new restrictions on furnace oil exports

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has introduced new restrictions on the export of furnace oil, requiring local refineries to obtain prior approval from a committee headed by the Prime Minister before making any overseas shipments.

According to official instructions, all refineries must now seek clearance from the Prime Minister's committee for each export consignment of furnace oil. This move is intended to ensure that domestic requirements are met before any surplus is sold abroad.
