A video circulating widely on social media claims to show a senior member of the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) expressing support for Israel amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. However, the authenticity and origin of the footage could not be independently confirmed.
The clip, which began trending across multiple platforms, appears to show an armed individual seated before a flag and speaking on regional developments. The speaker is described by online accounts as a TTP figure allegedly based in Afghanistan. Despite these claims, there has been no official verification of the individual’s identity, the location of the recording, or the date it was filmed.
Digital analysts caution that manipulated or AI-generated videos are increasingly sophisticated and can spread rapidly before verification. Given the absence of confirmation from credible sources, it remains unclear whether the footage is genuine, altered, or entirely fabricated.
If authentic, the message would mark an unusual shift in tone, as the TTP has historically focused on its insurgency against the Pakistani state rather than publicly aligning itself with foreign governments in broader Middle Eastern disputes.
No official statement has been issued by the TTP regarding the video. Authorities in Pakistan have also not commented on the matter.
Fact-checking efforts are ongoing, but at the time of publication, both the origin and authenticity of the video could not be confirmed.
