ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad district and sessions court on Thursday declared Ali Amin Gandapur a proclaimed offender in a case involving alleged recovery of liquor and illegal arms, issuing permanent non-bailable arrest warrants against him.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti, in a written order, directed police to arrest the accused and produce him before the court immediately upon apprehension. The court noted that proceedings under Section 87 of the Criminal Procedure Code had been completed and that public notices declaring the accused an absconder had been displayed as required by law.
According to the order, police had also submitted a report confirming completion of the proclamation process. After examining the record, the court observed that the accused appeared to have deliberately gone into hiding to avoid legal proceedings, prompting the formal declaration of proclaimed offender status.
The magistrate cancelled the surety bonds submitted on behalf of the accused and ordered that his name be entered into the official list of proclaimed offenders. The court further instructed the relevant authorities to initiate legal action against the surety for failing to ensure the accused’s appearance.
Court records show that the case against Ali Amin Gandapur was registered at Bara Kahu Police Station in Islamabad and relates to the alleged recovery of liquor and illegal weapons.
