BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili in Beijing on Friday.
China and Georgia are good friends and good partners, said Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noting that over the 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, friendship and cooperation have always been the defining theme of bilateral relations.
The two sides have adhered to mutual respect, mutual trust, and mutual benefit and have promoted the healthy and stable development of their relations, achieving fruitful results in various fields, Wang said.
China has always approached and developed China-Georgia relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, Wang said, adding that China is willing to strengthen strategic mutual trust, continue the traditional friendship and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Georgia to achieve even greater progress in bilateral relations.
