ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), on Thursday emphasised the importance of cooperation and principled diplomacy in addressing global and regional challenges during the closing ceremony of the Islamabad Symposium 2025, organised by the National Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) at NUST.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, the CJCSC commended the speakers and panelists for their contributions and noted that the evolving international landscape demands engagement rooted in dialogue and mutual respect. He said Pakistan continues to play an active role in fostering regional peace and stability while balancing relations between the Global North and Global South through constructive diplomacy.
General Mirza underscored the need to replace confrontation with collaboration, stressing that Pakistan’s foreign policy remains guided by coexistence, dignity, and adherence to international law.
Reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing stance on global justice issues, he reaffirmed support for the peaceful and just resolution of the Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir disputes. “At the crossroads of regions and civilizations, Pakistan upholds restraint and constructive engagement to help bridge divides and build a balanced global order founded on equity and fairness,” he said.
The event drew participation from academia, government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and students from leading universities.
