Murree introduces eco-friendly electric cart service for tourists

MURREE: The Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has accelerated several tourism initiatives in Murree under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. One of the latest developments is the launch of an electric cart “City Tour” service at Kashmir Point, offering tourists an environmentally friendly way to explore the hill station.

In addition to the electric cart service, other projects in the works include a glass bridge, a camping pods village, a new tourist resort, a theme park, and a paragliding club. Plans are also underway to introduce new chairlifts to expand recreational activities for visitors to the area.

CM Maryam Nawaz recently announced a significant restoration project for Murree’s historic Mall Road, a landmark that has stood for over 160 years. The Rs550 million scheme will be executed by the Walled City Authority Lahore in collaboration with local authorities and experts, with a target completion time of one year. The project aims to restore Murree’s historical beauty and enhance its status as a premier tourist destination.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the quality of work would not be compromised and reiterated her vision of transforming Murree into a global tourism hub, attracting both local and international tourists.
