LAHORE: A flight traveling from Lahore to Jeddah carrying Umrah pilgrims was forced to make two emergency landings at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on the same day due to technical issues.
Flight PA 470, an Airbus A320, experienced a technical fault mid-flight and was diverted to Karachi for an emergency landing. Passengers were shifted to a hotel while the aircraft was grounded and declared unfit for further travel. The airline arranged for an alternate aircraft to continue the journey.
However, after the replacement aircraft took off later that night, it too faced an emergency. Shortly after departure, the plane struck a bird and the pilot informed Air Traffic Control (ATC). The aircraft was immediately returned to Karachi as a precautionary measure and was also grounded following the incident.
