PM Shehbaz welcomes former PTI leader Nawabzada Mohsin into PML-N

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday officially welcomed Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan, a former provincial president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and ex-provincial minister, into the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Accompanied by his son Shehryar and several close associates, Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan made his formal announcement to join PML-N, further solidifying the party’s position in the province. The meeting also saw the presence of Engineer Amir Muqam, the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, who also holds the position of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a warm welcome to Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan and his family into the PML-N fold. “I am confident that with your inclusion, the party will gain significant momentum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said the Prime Minister. He emphasized that Nawabzada Khan’s leadership and influence would play a crucial role in strengthening PML-N’s outreach and public engagement in the province.

The Prime Minister assured Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan that the federal government remains dedicated to the welfare of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underlining the government’s ongoing commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region.

Nawabzada Khan’s defection from PTI to PML-N marks a strategic political shift, as the PML-N seeks to expand its presence and consolidate support in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has traditionally been a stronghold for PTI. His entry into PML-N is expected to have a significant impact on the party’s efforts to increase its influence in the province ahead of future elections.
