ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday appointed the chief justices for all four provincial high courts, as confirmed by notifications issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The appointments, made under Clause (1) of Article 193 of the Constitution, will take effect once the respective justices take their oath of office.
Justice Sarfraz Dogar has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Rozi Khan Barrech will head the Balochistan High Court, Justice Syed Muhammad Attique Shah has been named Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, and Justice Junaid Ghaffar will assume the position at the Sindh High Court.
The new chief justices are expected to be sworn in later this week, with President Zardari set to administer the oath to Justice Dogar at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, while the governors of the respective provinces will oversee the oath-taking for the remaining justices.
